The Offer the Association Publishes
The Specialty Food Association publishes a Hosted Buyer Program for Winter FancyFaire 2027. The show runs Sunday 17 to Tuesday 19 January 2027 at Moscone Center North and South, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco.
Qualifying Hosted Buyers receive seven named items. The association lists them as complimentary show registration, personalized buyer support, concierge support to enhance the show experience, early access to the exhibit hall on each day of the show, a special invitation to the Buyer Welcome Reception, access to dedicated meeting rooms, and access to The Buyers' Lounge on the show floor.
The association states its own contribution in one sentence: "SFA covers all of the buyer's hotel costs and provides Uber vouchers for travel to and from the Show, or evening activities."
Who Qualifies for the Money
The program page opens with a question for the reader: "Do you purchase for the retail, foodservice, distributor, or importer channels of the food industry? You may qualify for the SFA Hosted Buyer Program!"
One exclusion sits on the same page: "Manufacturers and Business Service Companies do not qualify for the Winter FancyFaire* Hosted Buyer Program, as the program is specifically designed to connect retailers, foodservice attendees, and distributors."
The stated purpose names where the money goes: "The goal of the Hosted Buyer Program is to encourage first-time attendees to Winter FancyFaire*, while also supporting well-established retail and distributor organizations by facilitating the participation of more members of their purchasing teams."
The program names Michelle McDonald and Noel Pineiro for direct enquiries.
The Gate Behind the Money
The registration page carries the terms behind the offer.
Its business qualifications block reads: "The Show is a trade only event and is not open to the public. Only individuals and businesses related to the specialty food industry may attend." All attendees are qualified on their company's primary business, and prior approval to a show does not guarantee approval of a registrant.
The refund term runs whole: "No refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to cancellations, no-shows, unforeseen circumstances, or incorrect identification of the business registration category." The same paragraph closes with a badge rule: "Badge transfers to other shows or other individuals are not permitted."
A qualification review carries a price consequence. Where Show Management finds that a registrant does not qualify for the business classification selected, the registrant pays the fee associated with the assigned registration type, and the page states that fee may be higher.
What the Covered Buyer Walks Into
The association's own show page publishes the audience figures: 12,000+ industry professionals, 4,000+ buyer attendees, 1,835 key buyers, 1,000+ exhibitors, 310 first-time exhibitors, 16 offsite sampling locations and 135,450 square feet.
The exhibit page publishes the buyer ratios for the same audience. More than 60 percent of attendees are buyers, 63 percent are verified buyers and 90 percent make or recommend purchases.
The floor clock is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday 17 and Monday 18 January 2027, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday 19 January 2027. All halls open at 9:30 a.m. for buyer badges.
The association names onPeak as the only official hotel provider for the 2027 show, and the hotel page dates its published rate table to the night of 18 January 2027.
The Position on the Trade
Read the three documents together and the deal takes shape. The association pays the badge, the room cost and the local transport for the buyers it selects. It walks those buyers onto the floor at 9:30 a.m., half an hour ahead of the general opening. It holds every seat it fills under a no-refund rule and a no-transfer rule.
That package buys qualified buyer hours inside a block the association controls. The buyer's registration fee leaves the buyer's budget. The buyer's room spend lands in the association's chosen supply. The buyer's calendar fills with a welcome reception, a buyers' lounge and a hall of exhibitors.
The terms price each way an accepted buyer can leave without spending on the floor. A no-show still pays. A badge that cannot transfer keeps the floor roster as reviewed. A reclassified registrant pays the assigned fee and stays in the hall.
The 310 first-time exhibitors give the arithmetic a second side. A first-timer needs buyer traffic that it cannot build alone, and the hosted program supplies that traffic at the top of the show, in the association's rooms, on the association's terms.
Winter FancyFaire is the association's first industry event of the year. The trade it offers a buyer is a covered trip and a qualified floor. The consideration it takes is an irreversible seat. For a show that buys attendance, the published pages set every term.
