The Position
Price the four nights as one contract. The organiser publishes one date line for the 45th Annual Healthcare Conference: January 11-14, 2027 in San Francisco, California. Monday 11 January opens the window. Thursday 14 January closes it. Check-out falls on Friday 15 January 2027.
Three prior editions hold the same shape. The 44th ran Monday 12 January to Thursday 15 January 2026, the 43rd Monday 13 January to Thursday 16 January 2025, and the 42nd Monday 8 January to Thursday 11 January 2024. The two most recent opening Mondays sit 364 days apart. The 44th's closing Thursday to the 45th's opening Monday is 361 days.
The published rate basis is a monthly average. The published window is four nights. A contract that covers the four nights puts one monthly figure against one date line.
The Deal Flow Behind the Audience
The bank's healthcare mid-year outlook, dated 26 June 2026, carries the deal record this audience sits on. It cites Sun Pharma's $11.75 billion acquisition of Organon as the largest biopharma M&A deal this year. It cites Gilead's acquisition of Tubulis at nearly $5 billion as the largest European private, clinical-stage oncology sell-side deal of all time. It records Angelini Pharma's $4.1 billion acquisition of Catalyst Pharmaceuticals. It records Thoreau's June acquisition of Ensemble, which it calls the largest sponsor-to-sponsor transaction globally across all industries in 2026.
The outlook states its own framing: "Strategic urgency, driven by patent cliffs, pipeline gaps and strong pharmaceutical balance sheets, is fueling robust deal activity across biopharma, biotech and medtech, including landmark cross-border transactions and billion-dollar megadeals."
The conference page names the groups it convenes: global industry leaders, emerging fast-growth companies, innovative technology creators and members of the investment community. It publishes no attendee count. The room count behind the four nights is a property-side judgement against the deal record above.
The Monthly Basis a Contract Pencils Against
Engine's San Francisco page reports an average nightly rate of $165 across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. January reads $166, one percent above the city average, and March reads $197. December reads $129, and 35 percent separates the cheapest month from the priciest. The city ranks 18 of 50 major United States markets and sits 11 percent above the $148 median of those markets.
Engine defines every figure as a par rate, the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search, drawn from searches made 10 to 180 days before check-in. Engine excludes negotiated and booked rates from that definition.
A contract covering 11-14 January 2027 holds four nights at the January reading, and those four nights total $664 per room. That total is the published monthly basis for the four nights.
The Citywide Contribution Per Room Night
Oxford Economics, in a study released on 25 June 2026 by the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the California Hotel & Lodging Association, puts San Francisco hotel impact at more than $12 billion for 2025 and citywide spending at about $900 per hotel room night per visitor. Four nights on that line come to about $3,600.
The same release counts nearly 50,000 jobs supported by hotels, split into about 16,000 direct jobs and about 34,000 ancillary jobs. It records $2 billion in total taxes and $8 billion spent by hotel guests at hotels and local businesses. It puts city average daily rates at 92 percent of 2019 levels with a forecast of 98 percent for 2026, and it attributes the 2025 rebound to a materially stronger convention calendar and the return of large-scale events.
The Warning on the Organiser's Page
The conference page carries one hotel sentence, and that sentence is a warning: "Please note there are sites offering hotel rates and access to the conference that are not affiliated with J.P. Morgan." The page names no block property, no booking channel, no rate and no cut-off date for the 2027 edition.
An analyst holds one published control point for the four nights: the organiser's page and the route that page names, which is a J.P. Morgan representative. The organiser publishes no other approved rate channel.
The Checks Before the Rate Is Set
Confirm the four nights against the organiser's date line and against the three prior editions. Confirm the January par reading and its definition before a comparable is quoted. Confirm the stamp date and the publisher on the citywide per-room-night figure. Confirm the absence of a block and a rate on the conference page at the time of pricing.
The Moscone Center's events feed lists 174 records. Its January 2027 entries read 17-19 January, 21-23 January and 30 January to 4 February, with no record across 11-14 January 2027. The conference publishes no venue, so read the centre's inventory lines as city inventory. Its booking page states that more than two-thirds of the city's 34,000 hotel rooms sit within walking distance of the centre. Its FAQ page states more than 20,000 hotel rooms within walking distance.
