The four published prices
The 21st San Francisco Short Film Festival publishes four prices on its ticketing platform. A live seat at the 4-Star Theater costs 15 dollars. A virtual programme costs 10 dollars. A Live+Virtual Screenings Pass costs 95 dollars, and a Virtual Screenings Pass costs 65 dollars.
The programme count behind the ladder is seven live nights and twelve virtual programmes, nineteen in all.
The runs behind the prices
Seven live nights at 15 dollars reach 105 dollars. Twelve virtual programmes at 10 dollars each total 120 dollars. The nineteen programmes bought one at a time come to 225 dollars.
The Live+Virtual pass at 95 dollars sits 10 dollars under the seven live seats alone and 130 dollars under all nineteen. The Virtual Screenings Pass at 65 dollars sits 55 dollars under the twelve virtual programmes it covers. The pass prices a programme at 5 dollars, and the virtual pass prices a virtual programme at 5.42 dollars.
What the platform caps
Every virtual admission bucket publishes no quantity limit. Every live bucket is capped at 120. The venue record sets the 4-Star Theater at a capacity of 120 with reserved seating off. Seven nights at 120 seats is 840 seat-nights, and a full house at the published seat price returns 12,600 dollars across the week.
Six pass types sit on the platform. Two publish a price and four publish none: the Delegate Badge, the Industry Pass, the Complimentary Pass and the Local Filmmaker Pass. Quantity breaks are switched off on all six.
The counters on 8 October
The live seat counters read 125 sold, or 1,875 dollars at the published seat price, against 715 open. No programme is sold out. Per night the readings are 26 on Opening Night, 12 on Funny LOL, 6 on An Animated World, 27 on True Stories, 14 on Spontaneous Connections, 4 on Spine-tingling Stories and 36 on Closing Night.
The pass counters read zero sold on the Live+Virtual pass and one on the Virtual Screenings Pass. The Delegate Badge reads 92 of 160 and the Industry Pass 147 of 160. The twelve virtual programmes carried 14 admissions on the same read.
The two routes the terms leave a buyer
The organiser publishes no rationale for the ladder. A buyer who wants the room pays 15 dollars a night or 95 dollars for the run. A buyer who wants the films pays 10 dollars a programme or 65 dollars for all twelve.
