Four dated rungs on one registration page
SEMICON West 2026 runs Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 October at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The organiser's registration site carries a dated ladder, and each rung names a decision the buyer has to make by that date. A hotel pricing the week can carry each rung on a forecast with the date attached.
The registration page publishes four dates. Early bird rates ended 26 June. Advance rates ended 25 September. The last day to cancel was 1 October. From 2 October the page accepts substitutions alone.
The rate table that replaced the advance tier
The live registration page reads, "These are our current Standard rates," and each table carries one column headed Standard Rate. The standard window runs 26 September to 15 October. A SEMI member pays US$1,230 for an All-In pass, US$945 for Thought Leadership and US$340 for Expo Plus. A non-member pays US$1,625, US$1,225 and US$440 on the same three passes.
The advance tier closed on 25 September. It carried member rates of US$1,185, US$870 and US$225, and non-member rates of US$1,555, US$1,095 and US$325.
The step across the two tables runs US$45 on All-In, US$75 on Thought Leadership and US$115 on Expo Plus for a member, and US$70, US$130 and US$115 for a non-member. That step is the published cost of a registration decision taken after the first rung.
The cancellation rung
The registration page states its cancellation terms in its own words. A refund request had to be submitted in writing no later than 1 October, and it carried a US$25.00 processing fee. After 1 October the page accepts substitution requests alone, in writing from the original registrant.
The substitution process cancels the original registration, replies with a promotional code, and lets the replacement register at a complimentary rate. The request has to come from the same email address as the original registration. A substitution moves a name, so the registration count holds while the delegate changes.
The housing ladder runs on the same dates
Convention Management Resources is the official housing provider, and its pages publish a second ladder beside the registration one. The rooming list fell due on 28 August. The last day to cancel without penalty was 25 September. The last day to add, change or cancel was 29 September. The hotels took over management of the block on 1 October.
Block requests open at 10 or more rooms. The organiser's registration page names 25 September as the last day to book housing inside the discounted block.
What the dates let a hotel price
Four dates name the days the group's money movements become fixed. The rate tier changes on 25 September. The cancellation right expires on 1 October. The block passes to the hotels on 1 October, the same day the registration system stops taking cancellations. From 2 October the registration file changes by substitution alone.
A revenue manager can carry each of the four as a dated line. Each date changes one of three things: the rate on a booked pass, the right to cancel, or the party that holds the room block.
The market the week sits in
Engine puts the citywide par rate in San Francisco at US$165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. October reads US$176, seven percent above the citywide average, and the market ranks 18 of 50 with a rate 11 percent above the US$148 median. September reads US$192.
AHLA and CHLA, with Oxford Economics, put hotel-generated economic impact in the city above US$12 billion in 2025, with about US$900 in citywide spending per room night, nearly 50,000 jobs and US$2 billion in taxes. Average daily rate sits at 92 percent of 2019, with 98 percent forecast for 2026. The report carries a 25 June 2026 date.
The district inventory and the block rate
The Yerba Buena Partnership lists 11 district properties with street addresses, from Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa at 250 4th St to W San Francisco at 181 3rd St.
The show's block carries no rate on the organiser's pages. The per-head group rate sits behind the group pass route, and the housing rates sit behind the housing login.
The ladder as a booking signal
The four rungs give a hotel four fixed points: the rate change on 25 September, the cancellation cut-off on 1 October, the block's handover to the hotels on 1 October, and the substitution-only window from 2 October. Each point carries a date, and each date carries a decision the group has to make.
