What the Organiser Put in Writing
ISSMA's 2026-2027 rule changes carry the fee schedule in the organiser's own words: "Open Class State Finals @Lucas Oil Stadium - Adults $30, Students $25; All other Marching Band Events - Adults $13. Student/Preschool Fees will remain at $7." The same paragraph gives the reason, to offset increasing expenses and costs for all events. Children under three years of age are admitted free of charge.
The State Finals adult price is 2.31 times the $13 charged at every other marching band event. The $25 student price is 3.57 times the $7 student and preschool line, which the document holds flat.
The ticket sheet for the 2026 finals carries the same two prices, states that they exclude any additional fees, and adds two terms: mobile only, not returnable.
The Price the Payer Signs At
Printed tickets will not be used for admission, and every purchased ticket goes to a smartphone. Ticketmaster adds $7.75 a ticket, which puts an adult at $37.75 and a student or child at $32.75. The fee is 25.83 percent of the $30 face.
Ticketmaster caps an order at 50 tickets. The stadium ticket office sells advance tickets in person on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern with no additional fee, and it takes credit cards with photo ID that matches the card. Cash and checks are refused.
A participating band can buy through its band director under a group route with no additional fee. On the day, only the Southeast Ticket Office opens, at 7:45 a.m., and entry requires the mobile ticket to be on the phone first.
That is the whole published price structure a group buyer works inside.
The Demand Side Is Unmanaged
ISSMA publishes no lodging programme and no room block. Seven pages on issma.net carry zero mentions of hotel, lodging, housing or accommodation, so no rate, no cut-off date and no attrition term exists for a property to bid against.
The venue's own lodging list carries 64 properties, every one tagged Indianapolis, IN, from 0.03 miles to 9.97 miles from the stadium. Every record carries a null rate and the page prints "Please enter dates to see rates".
Read against the ticket price, the published shape is a $30 face on the event and an open-market room price underneath it. Nothing in the published set ties the two together.
The Friday Night the Clock Requires
The finals publish a single-day clock: 7:45 a.m. ticket office, 9:00 a.m. North and West Gates, 9:30 a.m. start, with the venue's dated feed running the record to 11:59 p.m. Start to close is 869 minutes.
A 9:00 a.m. gate on a Saturday puts the arrival night on Friday 6 November. That is arithmetic on the published clock. Neither the organiser nor the venue publishes a booking, a room count or a rate for that night.
The turn to Sunday is short. From the finals' 11:59 p.m. close to the Colts ticket office at 9:00 a.m. on 8 November is 541 minutes.
The Case for the Single Date
The finals have run 53 years and have been held at the stadium in each year since it opened. The venue counts 42 bands and publishes a 9:30 a.m. start to an 11:59 p.m. close on one date. The ticketing and entry terms are published in full, so a buyer sees the whole cost of the event side before committing.
The next stadium booking is the Bands of America Grand National Championship on 12 to 14 November, the only multi-day event in the November run. The venue publishes one clock block across those three days: 6:00 a.m. South Parking Lot, 6:45 a.m. ticket office, 7:00 a.m. East Gate, 7:00 a.m. competition, and it counts nearly 100 bands.
One date with a clock that forces a Friday arrival gives a property one room night with a published shape. The band travel party has no published size, so the contingent behind the 36 field passes each band receives is the buyer's own number to establish.
What the Record Does Not Carry
ISSMA publishes no State Finals performance schedule. Its marching band page links schedules for the Festival Class, the Scholastic prelims and the Open Class Regionals, and its results block reads "Coming Soon" for every round including the finals.
The venue's event pages carry no attendance figure for the 7 November finals or for the 8 November game. The record therefore leaves the ranking of the November bookings open, and the room terms on the Friday night sit with whoever writes them.
