A Buying Week That Opens on a Thursday
Do it Best Corp. holds its Fall Market at the Indiana Convention Center from September 25 to September 28, 2026. The venue forecasts 12,000 attendees. The organiser counts 9,300-plus attendees, 1,200-plus vendors, more than 566,000 square feet of market floor and 75 learning sessions.
The week starts before the show floor. Thursday September 24 carries the Rental Center Training School from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and two Epicor bootcamps from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., each at $200 per attendee. Those rooms fill a day ahead of the Friday arrival wave.
What the City Banks
Downtown Indianapolis holds 7,100 hotel rooms and 200 restaurants. The airport sits 15 minutes out. Of the 7,100 rooms, 4,700 connect to the Center by skywalk.
The market's own housing list carries 22 hotels. Three of them connect to the Center. The other 19 sit between one block and 5.5 blocks away. The market runs a free shuttle for seven hotels on a 30-minute head, with service Friday 7 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Saturday 5:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. and Monday 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The booking repeats. The organiser publishes Fall 2027 for September 10 to 13 in Indianapolis and Fall 2028 for September 8 to 11 in Indianapolis. The spring editions move to Orlando in 2027 and New Orleans in 2028.
What the Calendar Pays
The venue's upcoming-events page lists 12 events between September 22 and October 15, 2026. Five days inside that window carry no event: September 23 and 24, October 2 and 3, and October 11.
The morning after the market closes, the building takes three events at once. MAPP Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference, ATD Core4 and ATD OrgDev all open on Tuesday September 29 and all run to Thursday October 1, for 2,650 forecast attendees. The Fall Market's final day is Monday September 28.
The market floor runs Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Monday 7 a.m. to noon. That is 23 hours of exhibit time across three days. Sunday and Monday open with a 7 to 8 a.m. quiet hour for dealers.
The Demand Behind the Week
Marcus & Millichap forecasts the Indianapolis CBD at near 65 percent occupancy for 2026, the highest figure in the metro. It attributes downtown demand to baseline tourism and to the convention centre expansion with the connected Signia hotel.
Newmark's 4Q 2025 Indianapolis report, on Kalibri Labs data, puts the metro's year-to-date RevPAR change at minus 4.8 percent. The Midwest reads minus 0.7 percent against minus 1.2 percent for the Top 104 U.S. markets. The same report puts the market's RevPAR index at 0.914, second of 16 Midwest markets.
The Channel the City Does Not Price
The market books its rooms through a single housing system behind its own registration. The published policy discounts rates only through that system and only for market attendees. The page states those rates come in below any online booking site, travel agency or chain site, and it tells guests not to call the hotels directly. The rates sit behind a login.
Indianapolis takes a national dealer audience inside 22 hotels, a shoulder night on the Thursday and a re-booked week through 2028. The block sets its own rate behind that closed system, and the rate sits outside the city's published data.
The Supply Answer Is Dated
The venue's expansion page places an 803-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis on a skybridge, with 90,000 square feet of meeting space that includes a 50,455-square-foot Grand Ballroom. The page targets December 2026. Newmark's supply table lists 814 rooms on a Q4 2026 delivery from Kite Realty Group Trust.
Cornovus Capital puts the city's pipeline at more than 1,500 rooms under construction, 3,402 in final planning and 3,220 proposed. It names near-term occupancy pressure as that supply absorbs, and it dates the Signia to March 2027. The repeat booking and the new rooms land in the same few quarters.
The Position
One corporate buying week carries more for Indianapolis than its four show days. It adds a training Thursday, a seven-hotel shuttle, a 30-minute headway and a block that fills 22 properties. The cost shows on the venue calendar, which gives back five free days in 24, and in a housing system that sets the rate for the whole downtown.
