Hotel MOTTO dates its fifth anniversary to 1 October 2026. The boutique art and design hotel sits at Mariahilfer Strasse 71a in Vienna's 6th district, with its guest entrance at Schadekgasse 20. The property opened in October 2021 with 91 rooms and suites. Owner Bernd Schlacher is an Austrian entrepreneur and restaurateur, and he runs the hotel inside the MOTTO Group.

A milestone dated to 1 October
The property dates the milestone to 1 October 2026 and counts five years of trading from the 2021 opening. The building stands on Mariahilfer Strasse, the city's longest shopping street.
CHEZ BERNARD and the upper floors
CHEZ BERNARD is the seventh-floor restaurant and bar, set beneath a glass dome. The kitchen serves modern Austrian cuisine with French and Mediterranean influences, and the release names fresh preparation and organic ingredients among its priorities. The bar serves a coffee blend made for the hotel. The eighth-floor rooftop terrace opens for drinking and dining in the warmer months.
MOTTO Brot on the ground floor
MOTTO Brot is the ground-floor organic bakery, open to guests and to local customers. The counter sells croissants, sourdough loaves and pastries made from locally sourced organic ingredients.
Brewdi and the wellness area
Schlacher produces Brewdi, the hotel's signature beer, from surplus bread from the bakery. Ottakringer Brauwerk brews it.
The fitness and wellness area measures 65 square metres. It holds a rain shower, a relaxation room with spring water, a unisex sauna and a steam bath. The adjoining fitness room carries a stationary bicycle, a treadmill, a weight bench, free weights and yoga mats.
The art programme
Fashion illustrator Andrea Ferolla contributed silhouettes that run across the hotel's walls. Photographer Victoria Barmak contributed works that create visibility for the LGBTQI+ community. Artist Sasha Knezevic, known as SASA, worked on eight guestrooms and placed quotations on mirrored walls.
The property's own counters
Hotel MOTTO reports the five-year totals itself. The hotel counts nearly 1,400 birthdays, at least seven marriage proposals and more than 213,000 guests since 2021. CHEZ BERNARD reports nearly 400,000 lunch and dinner covers, 86,000 glasses of Cremant, 33,800 plates of Coq au Vin and 29,000 oysters. MOTTO Brot reports more than 190,000 croissants.
The release carries no independent audit of these figures, so they stand as the property states them. CHEZ BERNARD released a birthday cocktail named Joie de Vivre, a limited-edition twist on the hotel's signature serve.
The room record
The hotel sells five room categories: PETIT, CHIC, DELUXE, ART DELUXE and the Junior Suite. The property presents the eight ART DELUXE rooms around Knezevic's artwork.
