The Gas Machinery Conference runs 4 to 7 October 2026 at the Indiana Convention Center. The venue forecasts 900 attendees. The Gas Machinery Research Council publishes 1,100 expected, 100-plus exhibitors and a call for papers aimed at 1,200-plus industry peers.
The Gas Machinery Research Council asks exhibitors and sponsors to reserve inside the official block at the JW Marriott, 10 S West Street, for the duration, and to secure the reservation during registration.
The published terms
Rooms start at 249 dollars plus tax. The booking date is 11 September 2026. A reservation made outside the official block link may not count toward block participation.
Unused rooms must be released at least 30 days before the conference start date. The council states that failure to comply is a breach of the sponsor and exhibitor agreement, and lists penalties against the organisation that holds the rooms.
Registration runs 850 dollars for members and 1,150 dollars for non-members.
Why this block holds
The people on the floor specify, operate and maintain gas compression machinery, and that equipment is bought on multi-year cycles. Gas Compression Magazine reported on 11 January 2026 that Energy Transfer forecast 5.0 to 5.5 billion dollars of growth capital for 2026, after about 4.6 billion dollars of growth capital and 711 million dollars of maintenance spending in 2025 and total capital spending near 4.16 billion dollars in 2024.

What the room stock supports
The Indiana Convention Center's attendee pages count 7,100 downtown hotel rooms, 4,700 of them connected by skywalk, plus 200 restaurants within walking distance. Its facility guide counts 4,721 rooms connected to the Center, 7,175 rooms within a six-block radius and 4,570 committable group rooms downtown, and puts 4,717 of downtown's 7,200 rooms on the skywalk network.
The venue's 900-person forecast draws on about 13 percent of the 7,100 downtown rooms. The council's 1,100 is about 15 percent of the same stock.
The series repeats
2026 is Indianapolis and 2027 is Oklahoma City. The published record reads Louisville 2025, Houston 2024, Phoenix 2023, Fort Worth 2022, Louisville 2021, a virtual year in 2020, San Antonio 2019, Kansas City 2018, Pittsburgh 2017 and Denver 2016.
Eleven published editions hold the autumn slot. A city rotation resets the block terms each year, and each host city sets its own rate and its own release date.
Ask for these four lines in writing
Request the room count inside the block, the bed configuration, the cancellation terms inside the release window and the penalty schedule. The council publishes a 30-day release duty and a breach clause. Put the attrition number and the release date in the agreement before an exhibitor signs.
