Two February Dates Set the Price of a Late Booking
The American Academy of Dermatology holds its 2027 Annual Meeting at Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco, from Friday 19 March to Tuesday 23 March 2027. The exhibit hall runs Friday 19 through Sunday 21 March on the lower level of the North Building. Two dates sit inside the booking cycle, and both land in February.
Wednesday 24 February 2027 is the last day to book housing through the Academy. Friday 26 February 2027 at 12 p.m. noon Central Time is the moment the hotel charges one night's room and current sales tax to the guarantee card as a deposit. The Academy states that deposit is non-refundable and is applied to the folio.
Between the two sits a file freeze. From Thursday 25 February to Sunday 28 February the Academy transmits reservations to the hotels and accepts no changes and no cancellations.
What a Cancellation Costs at Each Step
From the time of booking until 24 February at noon Central, a cancelled reservation costs $100. The Academy applies that fee regardless of the reason or the method.
After that minute, a cancelled reservation costs one night's room and current sales tax. The reservation moves from a flat fee to a night of inventory.
On or after 26 February at noon Central, the hotel charges the one-night deposit and keeps it. A guest who switches hotels after Thursday 25 February loses that deposit.
Two terms sit on the arrival itself. A guest who does not check in on the scheduled date pays one night's room and current sales tax, and the reservation cancels. A guest who leaves earlier than booked may pay an early departure fee.
One gate sits before all of it. The guarantee card must carry an expiry date of March 2027 or later, so a card dated February 2027 fails the booking.
The Five Nights the Block Does Not Own
The meeting occupies five nights: Friday 19, Saturday 20, Sunday 21, Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 March, with departure on Wednesday 24 March. Global Education Day runs Thursday 18 March, so a delegate attending it needs a sixth night.
The Academy publishes no hotel roster, no block rate and no per-property cut-off for 2027. Registration and housing run through Maritz Global Events, and group room packages run through FHT Global in partnership with it. What the Academy publishes is the deadline and the fee ladder that govern whatever sits behind that system.
Those five nights are priced by the block and sold outside it from the minute the deadline passes. A delegate who misses 24 February books the stay direct, and the property that takes the call owns the whole run of nights.
Open the Offer on 25 February
The four-day freeze is the opening. A registrant who wants a different night between 25 and 28 February cannot ask the Academy for it, and the transmission window closes every channel until Monday 1 March.
From 1 March, changes go direct to the hotel and depend on the property's own availability and policy. That route reaches delegates inside the block, and it carries the sixth night for anyone adding Global Education Day late.

Price the Five Nights
Quote a five-night total for arrival Friday 19 March and departure Wednesday 24 March. Give Thursday 18 March as a separate night, priced on its own, for the Global Education Day group.
Mirror the Academy's terms so a delegate can compare two offers on one page: a one-night non-refundable deposit at booking, the balance on arrival, and a change deadline the property publishes and can hold.
Set that change deadline before 25 February. A guest comparing the two files reads the same two dates on each.
Accept a card expiring in March 2027 or later. A delegate arriving from the Academy's flow carries a card already screened against that date, and the desk avoids a second guarantee conversation at check-in.
The March the Offer Sits Inside

Five lines belong on one page. Wednesday 24 February: the Academy's last day to book housing, and the last day a cancellation costs $100. Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 February: no changes, no cancellations. Friday 26 February at noon Central: the deposit posts and stays. Monday 1 March: changes move to the hotel. Tuesday 16 March at noon Central: the Academy's registration cancellation deadline, with a $100 fee and $25 for medical student and guest registrations.
Beside the dates, hold the arrival list, the departure list and each guarantee card's expiry. Quote the no-show and early departure terms in the property's own wording on the confirmation.
