Four March windows, one pattern
NTEA has published Work Truck Week dates through 2030. The event site's future dates page carries four editions on the same March week: March 9-12, 2027, March 7-10, 2028, March 6-9, 2029 and March 5-8, 2030. The page states that the commercial vehicle community comes together each March in Indianapolis.
Each window opens on a Tuesday and closes on a Friday. The 2027 week runs Tuesday 9 March to Friday 12 March. The 2028, 2029 and 2030 editions repeat the shape on 7-10 March, 6-9 March and 5-8 March. The interval between one edition's Friday close and the next edition's Tuesday open is 361 days.
What the venue's own records carry
The Indiana Convention Center dates Work Truck Week on its own event page to March 10-12, 2027, at the Indiana Convention Center, with a forecast attendance of 14,000. The same page's doors line points at the event website. Its footer carries 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis, 4,700 rooms connected to the Convention Center by skywalks, 200 downtown restaurants within walking distance, and 15 minutes to the Indianapolis International Airport.
The venue's dated event feed for 15 February to 1 April 2027 returns ten bookings. Work Truck Week holds 10-12 March inside them. WWETT closes on 25 February, 13 days before the exhibit hall opens. The next venue booking after Work Truck Week closes on Friday 12 March falls on 18 March, six days later.
Visit Indy publishes its own count of the same inventory: 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms connected, with more than 10,000 rooms within walking distance of the convention center. Each figure carries its publisher.
The position
Four published dates let a hotel contract the same four-day Tuesday-to-Friday window four times. A property that prices each edition as a standalone March spike gives up the repeat structure. Contract the four-window pattern.
Scale across the four editions
The event site carries 500+ exhibitors. NTEA's own page carries 500 exhibiting companies. The 2026 edition drew a verified 15,646 professionals from 29 countries and all 50 U.S. states, with 547 exhibiting companies in a sold-out hall, per NTEA's recap dated 23 March 2026. The venue forecasts 14,000 for the coming edition. The two figures measure different things and each carries its publisher.
The published week
The event site's 2027 day-level schedule runs the Future Truck Summit on 9 March, the educational program 9-11 March, the Ride & Drive 10-11 March and the Work Truck Show exhibit hall 10-12 March. The summit holds the JW Marriott Indianapolis on the Tuesday, the day before the hall opens, in its first year under the new name.
Registration and housing open in the fall, per NTEA's release of 11 August 2026. No 2027 housing block, group rate or booking cut-off is published on any page the site carries.
The clocks and prices still served on the event site belong to the 2026 edition. The schedule page heads itself Work Truck Week 2026 and runs March 10-13. The special-events page carries the 2026 function times and prices with an advance deadline of 13 February 2026. No 2027 session clock and no 2027 price for any special event is published.
The rate basis
Engine publishes Indianapolis at $128 per night across 1.2M public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. These are par rates, the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search. March averages $122, five percent below the city average. February averages $107 and May $158. Rates swing 32 percent across the year. The observations run 10 to 180 days before check-in. The page states it carries no per-property figure.
What to hold
Sign the four windows as one pattern. A Monday arrival against each Friday close gives four nights, and a Tuesday arrival gives three. The exhibit hall holds the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The Tuesday night sits ahead of the hall open, and the Thursday night ahead of the Friday close.
