The Position
The PRI Show publishes a housing rate band of $161.00 to $299.00, a 13 November 2026 cut-off on discounted rates and a no-deposit booking term through Visit Indy Housing. On that published record the 10 to 12 December week carries a stated starting rate, no deposit and rate protection through mid-November. Two published rules shape who can book the week and how long the stay runs: the trade-only badge rule and the Saturday close at 4:00 p.m. Both sit on the organiser's own pages, and both can be read before a card is used.
What the Band Covers
The organiser's 2026 Show Hotel Map, stamped February PRI-26005-HotelListMap, names 36 Indianapolis properties and carries a starting rate for 35 of them. Signa by Hilton Indianapolis reads "Coming 2027" and sits at row 30. The band opens at $161.00 at the Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown and closes at $299.00 at the InterContinental Indianapolis (New). The median is $201.00 and the average $207.14. Seven rows sit below $190.00, 22 from $190.00 to $230.00 and six above $230.00. The map states that these are starting room prices in United States dollars, non-inclusive of local sales and occupancy taxes. The booking portal gives that basis as 17 percent, adds a nightly $1 Economic Enhancement District fee and adds a destination fee of $1.17 per accommodation per night where a property charges one.
The distance marks run 1 Block 1, 2 Blocks 7, 3 Blocks 4, 4 Blocks 2, 5 Blocks 9, skywalk 11 and 1.5 Miles 1. Twenty-five of the 36 sit within four blocks or on the skywalk. Both the $161.00 row and the $299.00 row read 2 Blocks. Fifteen rows publish complimentary breakfast and eleven publish suite rooms.
Terms: No Deposit, One Cut-Off, One Fee Date
The map header states "NO DEPOSIT WHEN YOU BOOK DIRECT WITH PRI HOUSING!" and that all PRI rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi. It states that reduced show rates are not guaranteed after 13 November 2026. The portal restates the cut-off as a scarcity term: the official room blocks fill quickly and discounted rates cannot be guaranteed after 13 November or once blocks are sold out.
The portal's cancellation policy carries the dates that decide a booking. Reservation cancellations and guest room updates are due by 16 October 2026, with a $50 fee for each reservation cancelled in full after that date. Final changes to names, dates and cards are due before 13 November 2026. Every room must sit on a card that expires after 13 December 2026. Each hotel holds a 72-hour cancellation policy with a 3:00 p.m. EST cut-off, after which one night's room and tax is charged.
One neighbouring date sits on the organiser's exhibitor show schedule, stamped July 2026. It states that after 14 November 2026 all reservation changes can be made by contacting the hotel directly. Its own FAQ answers the hotel cancellation question with October 16, 2026.
The Trade-Only Test
The portal's cancellation policy restricts the block in its own words: "Only approved PRI exhibitors and attendees may book within the official PRI Show housing block." The attend page keeps the event trade-only for qualified motorsports professionals and states that membership is no longer required for 2026. Badges cost $45 from 21 July to 2 October, $55 from 3 October to 9 December and $65 from 10 to 12 December. A room in the block therefore needs a badge behind it, and the $45 window closes on 2 October 2026. The badge stays purchasable through the show dates at $65.
The Saturday Close Sets the Stay
The floor runs 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, for 23 hours across the three days. The Saturday close ends the week before dinner. A Thursday arrival and Sunday departure is three nights. Exhibitor move-in runs from 6 to 9 December, so a Wednesday arrival and Saturday departure is also three nights. At the band's floor, three nights bill $483.00 before tax and $565.11 at 17 percent. At the ceiling the same three nights bill $897.00 and $1,049.49. The gap between the floor and the ceiling is $414.00 before tax and $484.38 after. The one-night gap is $138.00, or 85.71 percent of the floor rate.
Portal inventory for a 10 to 13 December window returned seven hotels, all at the airport or in Plainfield, at rendered starting rates of $144.00 to $184.00 on 25 September 2026, below the printed floor. The portal states that many airport and Plainfield hotels provide free on-site parking for overnight guests, and the organiser's own shuttle schedule covers both tiers of that set.
What the Record Leaves Out
The map publishes no block size per property, no room-night commitment, no pickup pace and no attrition term. It carries no property-level cut-off date. The venue forecasts 67,500 for the show and publishes no December room-night figure. None of those items can be tested from the published pages. The facts that carry the position are the band, the 13 November cut-off, the no-deposit term and the three-night shape the Saturday close sets.
