OPMA's Published Block Stops at Rate, Code and Cutoff

The Oregon Foot & Ankle Conference sells the Hyatt Regency at $139 a night under code G-OPMA with a 30 September cutoff, and publishes no room count, attrition term or pickup report.

One Room, One Code, One Date

The Oregon Podiatric Medical Association holds its Oregon Foot & Ankle Conference at the Oregon Convention Center on 22 to 24 October 2026, in room F150-151. The programme opens at 7:00 am on Thursday and on Friday and closes at 6:00 pm. It runs 7:00 am to 1:45 pm on Saturday. The three days carry 25 CECH.

Housing sells the Hyatt Regency Portland at 375 NE Holladay Street at $139 a night plus tax. Reservations run on 971-222-1234 under group code G-OPMA, and the page sets 30 September 2026 as the deadline.

What the Housing Page Puts in Writing

The page carries a rate, a code, a phone line and a cutoff date. It states that the association reserved a block of rooms. It publishes no room count, no attrition term and no pickup report.

A buyer reading it learns the price of a night and the date that price ends. Every other term of the block sits in the contract the property holds.

The Ladder on the Other Page

Registration sells six rungs across two dates. An OPMA member pays nothing up to 1 August 2026, then $49. An APMA member pays $499, then $549. A physician outside APMA pays $1,199, then $1,249. The allied health rung matches the APMA rate on both dates. An APMA resident member and a student pay nothing at either date.

Membership class carries $700 of that ladder. The APMA member sits $700 below the non-member on both dates. The gap between an OPMA member and an APMA member runs $499 on the early date and $500 on the late one.

The calendar carries $50. That is the whole date step on every paid rung, or 10.0 percent of the $499 early APMA rate.

The Room Against the Fee

Three nights in the block cost $417. A late member pays $466 across registration and three nights, and the room is 89.5 percent of it. A late APMA member pays $966, and the room is 43.2 percent. A late non-member pays $1,666, and the room is 25.0 percent.

Those three totals follow from the two published pages. The association prints none of them.

Two Deadlines, Sixty Days Apart

The registration step fell on 1 August, 82 days before the Thursday open. The block closes on 30 September, 22 days before it. The membership decision therefore lands 60 days ahead of the housing decision.

Sponsorship Priced in Room Nights

The vendor prospectus prices annual memberships at $2,500 for Silver, $5,000 for Gold and $10,000 for Platinum. At $139 a night, Silver equals 18 room nights, Gold 36 and Platinum 72.

The prospectus also sells an 8 by 8 booth, sets exhibitor setup on Thursday 22 October from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, and sets teardown on Friday 23 October from 3:45 pm to 6:00 pm.

The Position

A state society should carry attendance on a low block rate, and this meeting shows the mechanism. The room is the only published cost on three of the six registration rungs. The class gap runs $700 and the date step runs $50. A society that moves the room rate moves the largest line for its students, its residents and its newest members.

Two conditions belong with that position. Publish the room count. Publish a pickup date.

Without both lines the society cannot state what its rate bought. The property then holds the only record of the block, and next year's negotiation starts from the property's own pickup number.
