The ticket and the purchase behind it
The Children's Museum Guild runs its 62nd annual Haunted House from Oct. 9 to Oct. 31, 2026 at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, 3000 North Meridian Street. The house is Fright Academy, presented by PNC, and the museum files the run as its largest annual fundraiser.
The house ticket sells separately from museum admission. General admission to the house is $9, museum members pay $8 and Access Pass holders pay $5. The museum's plan page lists an additional fee to visit the house in October, and its ticket terms state that admission prices vary by season and day of the week.
The ladder and its two steps
The house carries three prices. One to 19 tickets cost $9 each. Twenty to 99 cost $7.50 each. One hundred or more cost $7 each.
The step from 19 to 20 tickets saves $1.50 a ticket, which is 16.7 percent off the single rate. A 20-ticket order costs $150 against $180. The step from 20 to 100 tickets saves $2 a ticket, which is 22.2 percent off $9. A 100-ticket order costs $700 against $900.
The museum takes group orders by telephone through Customer Service at 317-334-4000. The ladder prices the house alone.
The admission discount and its conditions
A second discount sits on museum admission. Groups of 20 or more take 20 percent off general admission, and the museum requires that purchase in advance in a single transaction.
Museum tickets are date specific and non-refundable, and the value of an unused ticket applies to a new date when the exchange is made by 5 p.m. on the original ticket date. The museum's garage off Illinois Street carries no parking charge and connects to the building by the Skywalk.
The calendar the season sells against
The run covers 23 days. Three Mondays sit inside it, on Oct. 12, Oct. 19 and Oct. 26, and the museum closes Mondays. Twenty days carry the house.
Twenty-three daytime windows sit across those days: seventeen Tuesdays through Saturdays at five hours each, three Wednesday second windows at three hours and three Sunday windows at five hours. Nine evenings run 4 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29 and 30. The last evening falls on Friday, Oct. 30, and Halloween carries the daytime window alone.
The position for the record
The ladder trades per-ticket yield for volume at both steps. A group at 100 tickets gives up 22.2 percent of the single-ticket rate, and a buyer at the $9 rate keeps the yield on the smaller block.
The house ticket excludes admission, so a house purchase sits beside a separate admission purchase on the same visit. Measure the season on the attach between the house ticket and museum admission, and read the ladder's yield against the single rate.
